		<description>Hello!

Now that you have discontinued doing the XMLTV files, would you be so kind as to let me know how you used to collect the info...

I used to use tv_grab_za but then DSTV changed their website and my tv grabber no longer worked and my computer broke down and I had no time to fix it. Long Story!

Now I have fixed it! There&#039;s a way that I can do it but it will take me the whole day.

So if you can, please share the info...

		<description>Hey there VirginGirl!

You’re right. If Monochoice decides to go entirely with flash, then that will pretty much spell the end of the world as we know it. I’m fearing that they would. To be quite honest, if their smart enough and they really want to stop us, then they would go with flash. However, looking at their current site design, I do think that they will keep the current Schedule Search as is. But let’s not get excited just yet. Maybe they’ll try to screw us after all.

		<description>Hi again

How often do you generate the file?

---------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Jean-Pierre

Usually every two weeks…but I also use the same file, so if I see that it becomes outdated I also run an update.

		<description>Hi

Thanks for your efforts .... if the &#039;silly people&#039; at Multicoice were a bit forward thinking then we wouldnt have to do this sort of thing!

I actually have a PVR and all I want to do is search for various keywords over the next x days so that I know what is coming up. Both the DSTV website and the PVR&#039;s software SUCK at searching ...

		<description>Hi

Thanks for the xmltv file - the other providers of DSTV xmltv files seem to have &#039;gone away&#039;. Something that would be really cool is if Categories could be included in the file - my reason for this is that I want to search the schedule (I have a C# app for this) for any Sci-Fi movies or shows and the best way to do this is to look at the Category tag ...

Thanks!
Jean-Pierre

---------------------------------------------------------

Hi Jean-Pierre

I feel your pain and I would have added this if the DSTV-website included this on the same page as the schedules, or even if they had a link to another page with more detail that I could follow. I probably could find a way to link &quot;movies&quot; by using the movie name, but it would require a lot of coding as well as would limit the function to only movies and not &quot;Series&quot; and &quot;General&quot; programs, as it is not available on the site at all. The best I can promise you is that I will add it to my to-do list, and to try and get the time to code it....but it will not be very soon.

Sorry :-(

Regards

		<description>Hi VirginGirl,

great to see some one else has taken up the challenge of providing us with an EPG. Thanks.

I use Mythtv on linux and was hoping you could provide the XMLTV files in a better way than in a Word document - I am unable to extract the zip from the document in OpenOffice.

Hi Velouria

Your request is my command, the next update will take you to a direct download link.
Let me know if this is easier for you..

		<description>Hi!

I use Mythtv at home and I was also getting frustrated by by not having a proper EPG. I have since learnt how to use XMLTV.exe using tv_grab_za on Windows.

But I do appreciate your attempts.

Thanks

Mashilo

Hi Mashilo

I have used tv_grab_za before and the problem that I experienced with it was that it was always outdated, and always missed some channels. Its primary source is MNET, and my findings have been that MNET is not reliable enough. Anyway, if it works for you then I&#039;m happy....thanks for leaving a message.

Many Regards
